Subject: I got rid of Psi, but Gmail still closes MSN Messenger
Hi,

I'm a Mac user, and I used Psi in order to transport my MSN Messenger contacts into Gmail chat, so I could chat with my MSN friends through ichat. This didn't exactly go to plan and I got rid of Psi from my mac, but the msn contacts still remained in the chat space of my Gmail account in the form of something like this: ali_%hotmail.com.

Today I've switched over to my Gmail account permanently, but have noticed that every time I log into my Gmail account when chatting on Messenger, Messenger immediately logs out because I have 'logged in elsewhere'. I got rid of all the Messenger contacts that Psi transported over to Gmail and got rid of the program itself, but Messenger still seems to think that I am logging into Messenger from Gmail!

Is there something I am missing?

How can I go to Gmail without MSN Messenger logging out every time?

Thanks

Did you unregister from MSN Messenger transport and removed its contact from the contact list (look for it in Agents/Transports pseudo-group? You may need to turn on Show Agents/Transports and Show hidden contacts options (look for them in Psi's View menu).

Can you talk me through that? I'm not really literate in this stuff. I've reinstalled Psi, and I have the contacts list in front of me, and it has 'google talk' at the top, with all my MSN contacts listed, but everything is in grey, and I can't remove them from the list. Where do I go to unregister from the MSN Messenger transport?

The contact's email addresses end in %hotmail.com@msn.jaim.at.

When I go to the Psi:Jabber accounts window and try to remove the talk.google.com account and unregister it from the server, I type in the password that I use for my gmail account, and it says that there is an error in the authenticity test: host not found, password does not match the certificate or something.

Do I have to go to service discovery or something?

Can you help?

Log into your Google account using Psi as usual. Then, make sure that in your View menu, you have 'Show Agents/Transports' checked. If you do, look at the bottom of your contact list: does it have the group 'Agents/Transports'? If so, does it have an item called MSN underneath? If not, you may want to try enabling 'Show Offline Contacts' in the View menu. If you don't see any Agents/Transports group, and/or you don't see any MSN item underneath it: what happens if you remove the MSN contacts from your list? (right click / ctrl-click -> Remove)?

If you do see the MSN item, try removing it.
