Subject: XMPP Protocol Error
Hi to all, i'm trying to setup a jabber network for a intranet
i installed openfire (3.5.1) server and psi and before set up properly (i hope) openfire i'd try to connect

response from psi is: "There was an error communicating with the Jabber server. Details: XMPP Protocol Error"

either client and server are on my local machine (XP Professional)

any idea?

Try checking in XML console.
Which version of psi, btw?

no luck, i've tried but xml console doesn't open (button is disabled)

Hmm I cannot think of a situation when it would be disabled...
Maybe - just in case - check http://psi-im.org/wiki/XML_Console

instruction talk about accounts settings, but i can't create an account because i can't connect to my openfire server to register it

resolved using another server (ejabberd)

Openfire changed something in one of the 3.x versions. We had the same problem in Coccinella too (fixed now). Maybe this helps: http://www.igniterealtime.org/community/message/165721
