Subject: Suggestion regarding new toolbars
Hey,

I've been a Psi user for a while and I'd like to thank the developers for the fine works they've done. But I have a request that I hope can be addressed. I'm unhappy with the recent changes concerning the toolbars. First, the "Show contacts" toolbar doesn't have any spacing at the top anymore which doesn't look very good. The spacing around both toolbars isn't how it was before. Second, I'd like a way to change the "Psi main button" to what it looked like before (the classic, non-glossy "Aqua" one). A possibility would be to include it in the system iconset. And third, I'd like a way to also make the Status button look like it looked like before (I want its content to be left-aligned again). I know you get hundreds of feature requests and very often people ask for features that most other users either don't have much use for or don't care about. I can only hope that you don't dismiss my request on this basis. I think Psi looked just perfect the way it did before and I would appreciate if it would be possible to preserve that look in the future.

Thank you very much in advance.

Regards,

Niklas

P.S.: Please ignore what I wrote about the spacing at the top of the "Show contacts" toolbar. But the spacing around the toolbars has definitely changed.

I had a look at the current nightly build yesterday. The spacing issues are all fixed. The only problem that remains now ist that changing die psimain.png of the system iconset has no effect on the psi main button. And like I said before, it would be nice to be able to left-align the content of the status button. Thanks.

Changing the system iconset requires a recompilation now, unfortunately.  You might be able to define a second system iconset that contains only a changed psimain.png though, and then select that one.

I agree the text on the status button needs to be left-aligned.  I think a Qt behavioral change is at fault.  It is left-aligned when using Qt 4.2.3 here, but not when using Qt 4.3.4 on my other machine.  Maybe we can find a workaround.

It is also centered when using Qt-4.3.2, so I guess Trolls have changed something with buttons (with graphics, text and menu).

Well I have of course tried using my own system iconset. The problem is that Psi seems to disregard the psimain.png of any system iconset and just always show the default one. All the other system iconset icons work fine as far as I can tell.
