Subject: Psi and Google Talk Server
I was able to successfully use Psi to import AIM and MSN contacts to Google Talk, but some of the screen names didnt import, or didn't import correctly, and while trying to fix it I just made a mess.  I want to remove my account from the server and start over with the AIM transport.  I can remove the account from Psi, but I get an error message when I try to remove it from Psi AND the server.  Can anyone give me a tip on what I can do to start over?

It is likely that Google Talk does not support deleting accounts directly from XMPP clients like Psi.  Instead, you probably must go cancel your gmail account through the Google website.

However, if you plan to reuse your JID, then that's probably not what you really want, for two reasons: 1) If you cancel an account in gmail, it may not be clear if you can get it back, and that might also have other bad effects (losing your email account?), and 2) Even if you deleted your account, the transports will still remember that JID.

What to do: delete the transports from your contact list.  This will unregister your JID from those transports.  Next, delete all of your AIM/MSN contacts from the client.  To remove many contacts at once, you can right-click on group names and choose "remove group and contacts".

thanks.  I tried that and initially it did seem to work.  It is working through PSI correctly, and through Gmail correctly, but in Gtalk there is some sort of server error with the jaim.at server.  I don't know why its okay in gmail and not in gtalk.  Does the jaim.at server have to be verified in some way before it will work with gtalk?  Thanks for the help.
