Subject: Chat window opens outside of the screen
Hi there!

I might have found a small bug in the latest development release of Psi (0.12-dev-rev1 built on Oct 30, 2007) on Windows Vista. When I'm opening a new chat window to one of my contacts, Psi tries to "find" a place for the new window. Sometimes the new windows appears on top of the screen and the title bar is not visible so I'm unable to move the window to the correct position.

This issue only occurs when I set Psi to open new chats in tabbed mode. I've attached a screenshot.

Best regards
Sven

Unless Microsoft has dropped this in Windows Vista, you should be able to do so by using only keyboard.

1. Press Alt-Tab (maybe several times) to switch to chat dialog (that is out of desktop bounds).
2. Press Alt-Space to activate so called system menu (menu that opens when you click on the icon in left-top corner of the window).
3. Select "Move" (use up and down arrows and press Enter). Now a cursor will switch from normal pointer to four-way arrow and the window should move automatically into desktop bounds.
4. Use arrows to move around the window. Press Enter to end movement.

Thank you for the workaround, but I don't think this should be the final solution. I never had any issue like this using the 0.11 nightly builds.

Tabbing is undergoing an overhaul in trunk at the moment; the result will be nicer code for us to maintain, fewer bugs and tabbed muc (and making it easy to tab any other window in the future), but at the moment it's in an interim stage.

I experience the same problem on Ubuntu 7.10 amd64 (Gutsy Gibbon) with Psi 0.12-RC1 but with all windows, not just the message windows. And it's happening without the tabbed mode activated. The only window I could get out of this position was the roster as it automatically jumps into the visible screen if you activate autoresize roster. All other windows hide their title bars under my top system bar in Gnome.
