Subject: Simplification de l'installation en français ?
Bonjour,

English interpretation:

I installed Psi 0.10 on Windows, picking French as the language. Everything worked in French, without needing to install a translation file (although prior to installing, I downloaded the French translation file to the same folder as I downloaded the Psi installer to). If translations are included in the Psi installer, could this be noted on the download page?

As far as I remember Windows installer guide article in Psi Wiki, it clearly states that the installer installs translation files if non-English installation is selected and the translation for that language exists. Even screenshot in the abovementioned article is for French installation. :)

Yes, I do agree that download page should mention that, too. I'll let Hal know about it.

Very good idea.  I have NO IDEA what's in there though.  :D  Let me see if I can figure that out.

I can't find where in the source that we have stored the .NSI script which is the installer package.  Anybody wanna point that out for me?

http://dev.psi-im.org/darcs/win-installer Darcs repository, psi.nsi script (main). Files to install are in psi_files_install.nsi script, files to uninstall in psi_files_uninstall.nsi script. (Un)installer translations are in lang directory.

Ok, according to this script, when the installer is built, it will grab whatever translation files that we have on hand and package them into the installer.  The best I can tell, this file contains what was packaged at the time that Mircea released the 0.10 installer.  Can someone confirm that?

It seems so. :)

BTW: Isn't this just weird - 7 posts out of 8 in this thread (which is in French subforum) are in English. Should anything be done about it?

Sorry I didn't enter the discussion earlier. I understood that the initial poster only wanted the Download page to mention "the installer includes available language packs".

This file (psi_lang.map) does not contain the included languages in the installer. That file only contains associations between translation files and language names, to be shown by the installer.

Indeed, prior to building the installer, all available languages were downloaded using the fetch-translations script - thus including everything available on the server at that time.

yes, this thread may be moved in a oneother subforum because this can be interesting for all translations ;)
