I think, implementation of "disconnect on SIGPWR" is not so hard..
Cool. Then it should be trivial to integrate in Psi: http://svn.psi-im.org/psi/trunk/src/tools/systemwatch/
Just fill in the blanks in systemwatch_unix.cpp (as is done with the other platform implementations).

Has anything changed? I saw sollution for pidgin - they send dbus messages during suspend/resume.
Nothing has changed on the subject of controlling Psi from command line.

However, 0.11 goes offline correctly under Windows and Mac OS X when going into suspend/sleep. For Linux, this functionality still needs to be implemented. Using dbus for this sounds like a hack requiring extra work from the user. We would like to have this functionality built-in (if this is at all possible on Linux).

Well the "offical" way on linux will most likely involve DBus... But yes, we should try to implement automatic detection... But i'm not sure there is a real standard for it yet....
And i think at least some linux users will want to have a manual way too, because system level scripting is so common for things like that.

I think we should look into this for the 0.12 timeframe... I got enough working DBus code in my tree so we can at least make SystemWatch listen for the DBus events that the fancy GUI power managers use...

@SIGPWR
that's is "Power failure" and i don't think any standard linux configuration uses it for Suspend/Resume...
