And is the psi connected while you edit this file?

As i see You don't know how to work Rooster at Jabberd Servers.. It's doesn't meather if rooster is editing while clients are editing while clients are connected to server, because data from roster ( client conntact ) are downloaded from server only once when table ACTIVE in database is empty.

I don't know how jabberd works, but it seems you cannot edit the roster this way.

Please use XML console in Psi to confirm that jabberd sends an 'update' if you modify the roster. If it doesn't, then you are modifying the roster wrong, and Psi is not at fault. You have to check your jabberd documentation on how to modify the roster correctly. If it *does* send an update, and Psi does not react correctly, please send us the XML code of the update you get.

Subject: Roster Pushes
I can speak for Jabberd2 (or atleast I think I can), and probably most others, as we've had this talk on [jadmin]. Long story short whether or not you edit a file or modify the SQL database, your roster will not be updated until your last resource signs out, and you sign in again. It's not that the roster has to be cleared at all, just reloaded. If I recall jabberd 1.4.x correctly it will actually rewrite your roster on close which is even more annoying.

Roster pushes and pulls work, to test open two Jabber Clients, delete or add a contact on one and watch as it appears on the other list. It would certainly be nice to have live roster entries, and perhaps in future versions of Jabber Servers we will but at the moment live editing of rosters will not work, nor is it a client side issue.
