Subject: New website design
As some of you may have seen, there is a new website design offered on the psi-devel mailing list.  I created this thread for discussion related to that.

Well note that the forum design is mostly stock.  We'll change it to match the new website.

I like it really much as well, also the psi logo looks really great that way. I also like the new logo in the forum and the wiki, but I think this one does blend better with the software.
If you find any (coarse) mistakes in my English (e.g. grammar, sentence structure, wrong words used, misspellings that are not just typos, ...), please tell me. I appreciate any help in these matters.

 Ya the psi logo its nice but its not professional to software development, first link is show better than second link. For more information about logo design just view this site.

this site requires MM flash which isn't good for web

Big, bold no for flash-based webpages, which do not offer a plain HTML alternative.

No news (even on Psi-Devel). Besides: I'm no admin. ;)

Jep, a user should not be treaten to use a flash player, especially on a firm website.

But by the, in my opinion this was just advertisment-spam! nothing else.

Hi,

   According to my view, the second link its quite difficult to view the page, the background colour of logo part is little bit dull. Second link its not clear to view the page. First Link is better than second link.

 For further information about the Graphics design just have a look at this site.

Damn, what second link are you talking about? "Notes" means annotiations, explanations to the above. It's the same! One draft. One design. Not two. The first link shows the real screen, the second shows you what the designer has thought about it. Could someone please close this... Or ban link posting machines or something... ;)

1. No flash.  It has its place, but IMO it's way overused.  I think the only time you should have a flash-based site is when you want to intentionally aggrevate your users.  If that's your goal then by all means.  Actually, I think it works for official movie websites, and sometimes video game websites.  Then of course it's turned out to be a boon for solving "codec hell" for playing video on the web, i.e. YouTube.

2. Dunno, it just never happened.  Guy flaked.  Now taking applications for graphic artists.  :/

P.S. Flash doesn't work on PDAs and mobile phones, that's one of my main probs with it.  Adobe is actually working on this, but it's a year or two away, presupposing that they actually are successful in their efforts at making a new de-facto standard for rich media on small form-factor devices as they have on conventional screens.

I really like the proposed design - what I'd really like is just someone handy with CSS to bring it to light (It doesn't look like a terribly difficult layout for someone fluent).
