Subject....

Some days ago I've made it and sent  it both to Justin and anpluto (the step I beleive I had to perform according the guidelines in this forum). And got no reply from anyone. Probably my messages were intercepted by some kind of antispam filtering, I don't know.

And... he-e-e-y is there anybody alive here?

Just to make things clear about what happened to translation: I talked to Hal about it (that's why Hal answered ;)

Russian translation is available here. This link is available on Psi Download Page.
Funny thing that it's not available on Translation submit forum, even if there is entry for Russian translation. :unsure:

Subject: Notation
What do you think, should we transform "Psi" to "Пси" in the russian language? It is like "Wikipedia" and "Википедия".

ha, I even understand "Пси", meaning I can read it :D Interesting, that not all of my russian letters skills are lost ^^
If you find any (coarse) mistakes in my English (e.g. grammar, sentence structure, wrong words used, misspellings that are not just typos, ...), please tell me. I appreciate any help in these matters.

I'm not an expert in languages*), but trademarks (in meaning: names of distinguished things) should not be translated into other languages, except for geographical names. I also heard that it's possible (and generally accepted) to transliterate those names into Cyryllic languages, but it also may be regulated by some laws of the source language (the name comes from) or target language (the name might be translated to).

BTW: Isn't "Википедия" a transliteration of "Wikipediya"?

Psi is a greek letter (Ψ). The notation in russian for that is "Пси". Anyone will understand it. Our messengers name "Psi" is an english wordplay, but it does not work in russian language. By the way, in Germany nobody says [ˈsaɪ], but [psi] like the greek letter.

BTW: The russian Wikipedia uses "Мессенджеры" for "messenger".

I would say (based on native knowledge of other Slavic language) that this might mean Plural of "messenger" ("messenger software tools"?) :unsure: <_<

Subject: and what about v0.10the Russian translation for v0.10?
Hi,

it's me again. I  made the Russian translation for Psi 0.9.2 and 0.9.3. Now that version 0.10 released and still there is not the Russian translation for it, I have some questions:

1) Is there any need in the Russian translation for 0.10? Is any body interested in it?

2) If yes, the next question is: does not anybody currently make this translation?

To be honest, I do not use Psi anymore, but I feel myself somewhat obligated to continue the work I started. So, if there is some need in the Russian thanslation for Psi 0.10 and there is nobody around who is going to make it, I would like to do this work.

If this is a case the third question remains:

3) Previously, when the next Psi version released, Akito Nozaki sent me a "template" translation file made from the previous version, which contained the most of the messages (that match with the old version) already translated, so I had not to start my work from scratch. This time he did not send me anything (probably, just forgot about this or lost my e-mail). I dont know how to make such file myself. So, is such a file available for version 0.10? Or this version differs from the previous version too much and the work should be started from scratch?

Nobody I know of is working on a Russian translation at the moment.

To update the 0.9.3 -> 0.10 you can use the following page. Feed the 0.9.3 ts file and it should give you back the 0.10 ts file.

Please make sure there are total of 1550 string when you get the 0.10 translation.

Thank you, I got this file and it has is exactly 1550 messages long.

I hope I will complete the translation in a week or something about it.
