Subject: account-settings dialogue is invisible with Qt 4.3 beta

When right-clicking on the account in the roster and picking the "Modify Account" item, nothing happens. Same issue if one triggers it via the Psi-menu and "Account Setup" > "Modify".

The window does in fact get started, yet it is not visible.

Yes. This bug with psi 0.11 including RC1 on Qt4.3 versions including Qt4.3 RC1.
We can't setup new accout or modify existing
I'm thing something in Psi must be changed to work properly with Qt4.3. Because Qt4.3 soon will stable
and most users will use it.

None of us are able to reproduce it with qt 4.3 so far. Sounds like a Qt issue again.

My roster window is not responding to anything after I choose "Use existing account" option. Tray icon isn't responding neither. I am using PSIDATADIR which does not exist.

i just compiled my psi with qt-4.3.0-snapshot-20070513 and i can't reproduce this bug.
(linux, debian etch, amd64)

Bug is depending on WM.
There is no bug with Metacity WM
but there is with KDE 3.5.7 kwin
Maybe psi generate wrong windows parameters?
I see this message on metacity output:
Предупреждение менеджера окон: неверный параметр WM_TRANSIENT_FOR окна 0x5000071 указан для 0x50015cb (Psi: Accou).
but there is no warnings with Qt4 demo programs

I also can confirm that with Qt 4.3 (final), the problem persists. Also using KDE 3.5.7.

Can you get that metacity warning message in english? Maybe it will help.
(starting metacity with LC_ALL=C in the environment should work)

It translates roughly as:
Window manager warning: Invalid parameter WM_TRANSIENT_FOR of window 0x5000071 shown by 0x50015cb (Psi: Accou).
That 0x5000071 shown by 0x50015cb part may mean 0x5000071, a child window/widget of 0x50015cb window/widget.

If you have qt designer, try opening accountmanage.ui, and break the toplevel layout, recompile, and see if it works.

I have modified accountmodify.ui and set both baseSize and minimumSise to [500,490] and it helps!

in file accountmodifydlg.cpp must be deleted
and all works good without any mocups
