Want to build source or binary packages for your operating system or Linux distro of choice?  Great!  You can announce your intent here and discuss with your fellow Psi users.  Once you feel your package has been tested sufficiently, let the webmaster know by using the magical steps below to submit your package to be included on the main download page.  By the way, you do NOT have to be the author or packager to make submissions.  If you found Psi is available on an OS which does not appear on the main download page and you think it should--let us know.

Also appropriate for this forum are applications which complement Psi, such as a config file editor, or an iconset builder.

Note: The Psi project may choose not to accept your submission to the main download page.  Please don't take offense.  To ensure clarity for all levels of users, we have to restrict the number of download links.  In order to increase the chances of getting your package accepted, it must meet the following criteria:

  • The OS should have some measure of standing in its own community.  In other words, please don't submit a package for a Linux distro which is named after you, which you just released yesterday, which is hosted on a DHCP web server.
  • There must be a webpage describing the package.  If it is expected for the OS, the webpage should have installation instructions.  FTP links directly to a package file will not be accepted.
  • Don't submit package where we already have coverage.  We don't need two Debian maintainers!  This can get complicated when you have upstream providers, but do what other users of your OS expect and that should be fine.

When your package is ready for submission:

Simply make a new thread in this forum, and be sure the title starts with "ANNOUNCE:", followed by the OS and/or package name.  In the post, include the URL to the package webpage.  If you wish to be cited, include your name or nick preference as well.
